God’s Call and our Service:
Bro. R. Prem Kumar, the founder and director of the King Tabernacle ministry, is a chosen vessel of God. Born in a staunch Hindu family, Bro. Prem Kumar accepted Jesus Christ as his personal saviour in the year 2000. Since then, he has dedicated his life to the mission of the gospel.
Brother Prem Kumar received the call of God in 2009 while working in the field of graphic designing. The call was similar to that of Paul in 1 Corinthians 1:17 to take the gospel to people who have not heard of the good news of the gospel.
By the grace of God, the ministry began in 2010 in Theethipalayam, an area known for its resistance to missionary works in the Coimbatore region. Regardless, the grace of God paved the way for preaching in the streets and ministering amongst children. As a result, the Word of God was sown in the hearts of more than 80 children and 20 adults. Children who were unable to go to school due to poverty were given education and encouraged to learn.
In the same year, house prayer was initiated in a small hut in Otthakkal Mandapam in accordance with a vision from the Lord. It was by the mere grace of God that a family, whom we never knew before, opened their home for prayer. Moreover, a church that had remained locked for about 45 years was opened and became a glory-filled place for multitudes to worship the Lord. Despite much opposition, the ministry is flourishing in this place.
In 2013, Bro. Joseph joined us and we began a new ministry in a place called Vazhakkupparai. Here also, a church that had been locked for about 20 years was transformed into a beautiful place of worship as per the word of God “I will raise up the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down.“ God used us to transform this place and many are now coming here to worship God. Bro. Joseph is now serving as a pastor in this church.
Our next ministry began in 2015 in Meenatchipuram. In keeping with God’s loving command to Peter “Feed my sheep,” our first opportunity was to minister among children. Again, God led us to reopen a church that had been locked for years. Similar to Paul’s ministry, the church has grown strong in this downtrodden place and is serving many useful purposes. We are watching the fulfilment of the Word of God “The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former.“ Now, Bro. Christie Gunalan is serving as a pastor here.
To aid the underprivileged in P.N. Pudur, this ministry has established a church which has been functioning in this region for the past two years. Bro. Jebaraj is taking care of the ministry here.
Other Ministries
In several places, such as Sokkanur, Rayagiri, Rayagiri Gudalur and Sungam, we have started ministries and handed them over to responsible ministers of God. By God’s grace, the ministries are flourishing.
We continue to encourage youngsters and believers to serve the Lord. Moreover, we conduct programs and meetings to boost and light up the spiritual life of youngsters.
We also conduct Sunday classes, vacation Bible classes and perform social services.
Currently, we are planning a count of churches focused in South India and work is underway to fulfil the task.
